Salsa Bikes, more Rohloffs.

It’s been a while since the last update here, we’ve been flat out over the spring and summer.

In exciting news, we have been selling Salsa bikes for the last 12 months or so – some great custom Fargos, Vayas and El Mariachis have rolled out the door.

Here’s one we built up for a customer with Salsa’s Rohloff Alternator dropout, Rohloff hub and Co-Motion shifter.

Other parts include the Mavic A719 rims, Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres for commuting duties, and Salsa Woodchipper.

Hopefully some more updates to come soon, and some cool new builds.

Ride on!

2nd year anniversary for Monkey Wrench Cycles! Also, a Rohloff Conversion

So, what’s the best way to remember the two-year anniversary of your bikeshop opening? The two-year domain subscription to http://www.monkeywrenchcycles.com.au expires! Sorry to anyone who attempted to visit our site or email us for a few days – but we’re back up and running now.

To celebrate our 2 year anniversary of fixing bikes here in Hackett, we’ve gathered a heap of cool stuff and marked it at 50% off. Multi-tools, Saddles, Gloves, Drivetrain parts, Lights, Bottle cages, Cleaning stuff and more. Check out the display at the front of the shop.

We’ve had a busy winter here and it’s looking like it will be an even busier spring/summer for us. One of the cool projects we’ve had over the last few months is converting a touring bike to use a Rohloff internal gear hub. 14 gears, all internal, supremely reliable and beautifully made, these German hubs are a crowning achievement of the cycle industry.
